Commercial Lending – General, Market Risk, Operational Risk
Reporting Relationships The Senior Risk Analyst (“RA”) will report to the Chief Risk Officer and will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Senior PA will develop predictive models, strategies and analyses to support BFS’ mission to be the premier funder to small businesses.
The Senior Risk Analyst will: • Assist with implementation of a new Risk Decision Engine and Loan Management System, including implementing credit risk models and strategies • Develop, maintain and monitor the risk appetite framework and key risk metrics • Assist with developing credit risk and fraud strategies • Work with Underwriting to improve manual underwriting and insure service level agreements are consistently achieved • Work with our IT department and business partners to develop the Corporate Data Warehouse and data strategy • Assist with mentoring and developing junior analysts • Support product development with analysis and business case development
Credentials, Skills and Qualities • Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science. An advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or related quantitative discipline preferred • 5+ years of experience working as a Credit Risk or Fraud Analyst in a financial services organization, with preference for a commercial lending organization • Exceptionally strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Superior communication and implementation skills; ability to negotiate internally and externally to achieve important corporate goals • Strong programming experience using R, Python or similar software and with retrieving data from large data environments • Experience with relational databases and data access methods, especially SQL • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced collaborative environment • Ability to understand the business and access and interpret data to respond accurately to complex questions that require timely answers
