Role Description: We are looking to hire a China Credit Portfolio Manager to drive our expanding China Credit and Fixed Income Portfolio Management team. Based in Singapore/Hong Kong, the Portfolio Manager will be responsible for delivering alpha generation to the China focused portfolios and strategies. The successful candidate is expected to serve as an ambassador for the Asian Credit Portfolio Management team, clearly identifying and communicating the team's investment theses to both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate for this role will report to the Head of Asian Credit.
Responsibilities:
Contribute alpha generation for China focused portfolios through macro as well as single name investment decisions, working closely with senior portfolio managers and research analyst colleagues
Provide macro-economic views and insights as well as opinions on the outlook for China Credit Market
Build partnership and strong working relationship with analysts and portfolio managers in the region and throughout the firm, serving as a resource and an ambassador of the Asian Credit Team
Represent Asian Credit and BlackRock investment outlook both internally and externally
Support and learn from senior portfolio management team members
Support the expansion of the existing China Credit investment platform and build scalable investment processes, maintaining a close working relationship with the Credit COO and partner teams in Trading and Investment Operations
Partner with the Product Strategy and distribution team in growing China Credit franchise and developing core product offering
Qualifications:
Preference for candidates with minimum of 6+ years' industry experience focused on the Asia investment universe with a strong, ideally sole, focus on Chinese credits
A strong demonstrable record of applying fundamentally driven views across China focused credit and fixed income investments (CNY, CNH or USD) to generate alpha
Experience in onshore China credit and fixed income investments (CNY) essential
Solid understanding of China credit and fixed income markets including in depth knowledge of credit market dynamics and individual names as well as a strong knowledge of China primary market issuance and engagement with key counterparts
Proven success of partnering with distribution channels to build AUM
Inquisitive nature, driven to excel in all aspects of the analytical process and in assessing opportunities through different industries
Must possess the desire and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate your investment views and positioning to a varied audience
Fluency in spoken Mandarin and reading/writing in simplified Chinese are essential, alongside fluency in both written and spoken English
