Position: Relationship Manager, Partner Development

Reports To: Vice President, Partner Development
Manage quality and consistency of program, solution and service delivery. Responsible for building sound relationship and maintaining sales activities on assigned accounts.
Key responsibilities include the following:
Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
Present and sell association programs, solutions and services to current and potential clients.
Identify relationship prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned. Follow up on new leads and referrals.
Demonstrates effective persuasive presentation skills. Prepare presentations, proposals and contracts.
Stay current on new programs, solutions, services and marketing techniques to enhance sales efforts. Relationship Managers are required to carry sales & marketing materials with them at all times to help effectively secure new accounts.
Develop and maintain close relations with corporate partners in order to fulfill their needs more effectively. Identify and resolve client concerns. Promptly respond to and follow up sales inquiries using appropriate methods.
Communicate new service and solution opportunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through meetings to Partner Development, Programming & Marketing Teams.
Promote services through conventions, trade shows, events, public relations, etc.
Work with marketing to develop new marketing products/materials to facilitate sales and relationship management efforts.
Know and/or identify key business, foundation program officers, corporate executives, community leaders, and other potential supporters of the Association and cultivate and encourage their participation in and knowledge of the organization’s mission and programs.
Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and client/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales – especially managing personal time and productivity.
Plan and manage personal business accounts according to an agreed market development strategy.
Manage solution/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.
Develop new clients through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
Achieve reasonable level of telephone/face to face activity working assigned accounts in order to generate new business and maximize cross sell and up sell opportunities within existing customers.
Provide detailed plans for each active account.
Contributes to team growth and cohesion by sharing lessons learned, communicating regularly with the team, engaging the team where appropriate, and treating colleagues with respect.
Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from four-year College and five years related experience in sales office position or 5 years proven sales office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communications Excellent written and oral skills; Excellent presentation skills; and, Exceptional interpersonal skills—the candidate must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, managers, partners, and clients with a positive, enthusiastic attitude; Ability to write reports including responses to Request for Proposals, business correspondence and procedural manuals;
Ability to present information and respond to questions from staff, corporate sponsors, vendors, partners, clients and the general public;
Experiences with customer phone contact a plus.
Sales & Marketing Understand of the professional services sales cycle; A strong understanding of client needs and client service; A good understanding of the competitive business environment; Excellent knowledge of proposal development and process;
Project Management Strong project management skills; Excellent organization skills; The ability to work in a team environment; High level of attention to detail; and The ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and conflicting agendas.
Problem Solving Excellent problem-solving skills;
Technical Skills Excellent writing and editing skills; Affinity for technology and the ability to learn and apply new skills easily; Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet;
Experience with order entry systems and software/systems conversion a plus.
