The role will support the Procurement Leadership Team (PLT) in driving a multi-year Procurement transformation programme through the development and leadership of a Global Supplier Relationship Programme. The role will be responsible for translating the Procurement strategy into operational excellence through governance and oversight of major supplier relationship efforts across Astellas. The role will have the following key goals:
Develop and execute the Astellas Corporate Supplier Relationship Management Strategy in partnership with Global Category Leads and Vendor Managers located within certain business divisions
Responsible for championing establishing, operating and monitoring critical supplier governance activities that maximizes the effectiveness of the goods and services procured via key suppliers
Work to ensure that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering quality products and services on time
Create a common view and language for all supplier collaboration matrix across the enterprise including inspection and audit readiness, risk mitigation and market intelligence.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
This role will be accountable for delivering a Supplier relationship governance model which supports the transformation to an industry leading Procurement function. Key focus areas of the identified model will include the development of a highly effective Procurement organization where Astellas is viewed as a Customer of Choice. The delivery model should support the enablement of industry leading value for Astellas
Delivery of Supplier Relationship management program with stated goals to define value beyond savings, supplier interventions and oversight at enterprise level, supply base innovation to increase speed to market amongst others
Conduct periodic end-to-end review of supply chain to understand improvement opportunities (incl. supplier analyses), and champion strategies to drive efficiencies, effectiveness, and improved service levels and quality, as well as minimizing risk
Take ownership of supplier governance, and develop an infrastructure to support a decentralized supplier governance approach
Effectively and successfully manage reactive and proactive sourcing efforts, at various stages in the supplier selection and negotiations process, where necessary
Establish an evaluation model for suppliers, and monitor and report on the performance of selected vendors to ensure delivery in line with contractual obligations and the defined performance metrics
Manage outward communication to vendors to facilitate understanding and awareness of organizational strategic direction, changes and challenges
Manage the interaction between vendors and internal program delivery leaders to provide adequate visibility of interdependent initiatives and programs
Offer input regarding negotiation processes and related tools
Devise and implement supplier capability development strategy
Will require indirect management of a number of cross-functional teams as well as significant co-ordination with Global Procurement team
Travel: Key area of the role will be to support with, align and influence Global/Regional stakeholders and therefore, global/regional travel will be required (20% of role)
Develop leading SRM capability for 50/100 suppliers to support Procurement team of 140 people and spend of $3.7bn

Bachelor's degree required
+5 years of procurement, supply chain, and/or technically relevant work experience
Fluency in English conversational and business English (equivalent to TOEFL iBT 105+, or 7.5 IELTS, CAE- Cambridge English advanced exam)
Deep understanding of supply base management
Deep understanding of Strategic Sourcing, Category Management practice and 3rd party risk management
Experience in developing and executing standard processes across an organisation
Proven extensive experience in managing third party service providers and services provided by third parties
