Global Asset Management Operations is made up of approximately 420 people across 9 locations and is responsible for the operational processing of funds managed by Fidelity. AMO Relationship Management is one of the functions within Global Asset Management Operations. This function in Asia belongs to the Vendor Relationship Management & Governance APAC team who is reporting into Head of Asset Management Operations, APAC. The team provides support to Asset Management Operations business across the APAC region. The AMO Relationship Management & Governance APAC team supports our business stakeholders manage their work relationships with external business partners; monitor risk by embedding set of governance control activities into the overall framework as per Fidelity internal policy. The team continuously seek enhancements to service receive from our external business partners, pursue a strategic, cost effective and scalable operating model to support our business to attain their business goals and objectives.
Purpose of the Role
Aligned governance control activities across key strategic relationships in the Asia region. Manage and maintain regional governance model in accordance to Fidelity global standard practice, take into account regulatory requirement based on each jurisdiction.
Liaison with 1st Line and 2nd Line Risk to ensure robustness of the Governance Framework
Support Business Initiatives and Change Request to support strategic business growth opportunities
The AMO Relationship Management & Governance APAC team is responsible for developing and maintaining risk and governance control activties on managing external business partner relationships. These strategic relationships include but not limited to custodians, 3rd Party Administrators, other vendors/suppliers providing a substantial service in supporting Asset Management Operations to run our day-to-day business.
Point of escalation for all service related matters. Liaise between various parties and bring resolution to all types of issues/ disputes. Develop and follow up on service improvement action plans where applicable.
Support Asia business to define the overall governance framework for ongoing oversight of strategic business relationships. Work witih various stakeholders to develop a procedural document detailing the governance framework, identify roles and responsibilities, reporting and escalations protocol
Provide assistance to establish and maintain an effective operating model, standardized process on overall governance framework covering the region
Organize strategic business partners relationship meetings, facilitate engagement between strategic business partners and FIL senior management members
Oversee and monitor regular due diligence progress, report status to appropriate forums/ boards
Identify and promote streamlining of operational processes between Asset Management Operations, external business partners, and clients to improve efficiency and lower operational risk to Fidelity
Support Global Procurement Policy in rolling out Sustainability program on vendors and suppliers in the region
Support fee negotiations and provide fee comparisons on competition to drive down fund and firm costs
Open service contracts are reviewed periodicaly to ensure they are up to date and are meeting regulatory obligations
Participate in Global forums to share team updates, best practices and knowledge
Perform RCSA risk review; support compliance regulatory inspection requirements
Support various periodic management reporting requirements fulfill governance purpose
Work with the business on new projects & support local understanding of regulatory impact to Asset Management Operations
Engaged in projects including new instruments, products, fund structures, changes to operational systems and processes.
Support Senior Management with regional Asset Management Operations initiatives, complete long-range projects, improve work flows and processes, lower error rates, increase client satisfaction
Forge strong relationships with internal stakeholders enabling the anticipation of requirements and the ability to balance multiple, often conflicting priorities
Attend industry events staying current with developments in the business
Experience and Qualifications Required
Graduate with 5 years+ of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting or Investment Operations. Preference given to those with work related to relationship and contract management within the financial services industry
Self starter/ motivator-- Dynamic "can do" approach with a strong desire to make things happen.
Solid business communication skills; verbal and written fluency in English and Chinese required. Solid business communication skills; verbal and written fluency in English and Chinese required. A 3rd language in either Japanese and/or Korean is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels both inside and outside the organisation.
Accuracy & attention to detail, with strong analytical & numeracy skills
