JOB SUMMARYThe Global Technology (GT) organization is on a mission to modernize Marriott’s information architecture and technology capabilities that will enable the company to bring new kinds of best-in-class experiences to our customers worldwide and define the future of travel and hospitality. The Senior Manager of Delivery Analytics & Reporting will be responsible for guiding Marriott’s technology strategy and implementation by leveraging analytics to generate actionable insights from data related to all kinds of enterprise technology / software development activities. The Senior Manager will conduct analytic deep-dives and build dashboards to support corporate decision makers, act as a trusted advisor to Global Technology leadership in helping transform the organization, and partner with key stakeholders across the organization to create a unified roadmap for analytics and reporting. The Senior Manager will also lead engagements to drive enterprise data strategy initiatives to shape the evolution of analytics and decision making across Global Technology.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ year undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Economics, Business Administration, or a quantitative discipline
- 5+ years’ experience in product analytics, sales analytics, marketing analytics, business/financial analytics, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of strong experience querying and manipulating large quantities of data using SAS or SQL
- 5+ years of strong experience building sophisticated dashboards and reports using Tableau
- 3+ years of strong experience manipulating data in Microsoft Excel, especially using Vlookups and PivotTables
- 2+ years of strong experience in leading data strategy engagements and guiding and advising senior leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ year undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Economics, Business Administration, or a quantitative discipline
- 5+ years’ experience in product analytics, sales analytics, marketing analytics, business/financial analytics, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of strong experience querying and manipulating large quantities of data using SAS or SQL
- 5+ years of strong experience building sophisticated dashboards and reports using Tableau, Spotfire, and/or Jaspersoft
- 3+ years of strong experience manipulating data in Microsoft Excel, especially using Vlookups and PivotTables
- 2+ years of strong experience in leading data strategy engagements and guiding and advising senior leaders
- 2+ years of experience in data modeling and ETL development and processing
- Experience using reporting capabilities in JIRA and/or Clarity
- Programming experience in Python or R
- Experience with multiple data warehouses (Netezza, AWS, Snowflake)
- Familiarity with project & product management methodologies within SAFe
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
This position may support one or more functional areas within Technology Portfolio Management
- Analyze large datasets using SQL and Tableau and provide actionable insights to the business to continuously improve, scale, and optimize enterprise technology delivery strategy and outcomes
- Develop BI solutions such as building pipelines, dashboards, models, and tools to analyze and present data associated with enterprise technology delivery workstreams to leadership and other audiences, offering them flexibility to dive into organizational performance
- Work cross-functionally with Global Technology teams to understand existing datasets and identify data sources needed to support the business, align on metrics, and ensure reporting is accurate and consistent across teams
- Build and manage relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and be seen as a trusted business intelligence advisor by the Global Technology organization and its leadership to push the business forward, problem-solve, and identify positive return-on-investment (ROI) opportunities
