As payments is one of the hottest segments in the financial industry, Wespay is seeking a Senior Vice President, Member Engagement & Relationship Management, a position that is responsible for leading several key initiatives identified in Wespay’s strategic plan, including developing innovative strategies to grow and strengthen member relationships. Position Summary
Wespay is looking for a Senior Vice President responsible for member engagement and relationship management. The successful candidate will be a member of our management team and report to the President & CEO. This position offers the opportunity to be at the heart of key relationships that propel our association, including financial institution and business members, industry associations, and strategic partners. This role requires the ability to deeply understand member needs, articulate value propositions, and work constructively with partners. Associations are driven by their members and this role will serve as a member advocate, innovator, and nurturer.
This position is based from a home office anywhere in the U.S. Our colleagues and members primarily conduct business in the Pacific and Mountain Time Zones. Approximately 20-30% of domestic business travel is anticipated; travel needs may be higher during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the Wespay Business Passport membership program. This includes defining target market segments, growing membership to reach annual budget plans, evolving the member value proposition, and delivering on the member promise.
Grow financial institution engagement and improve our relationship management practices. Lead the annual member calling program by defining metrics, priorities, and program objectives. Conduct the biennial member survey, analyze results, and define action plans. Work to fortify and grow Wespay’s market reputation.
Expand Wespay’s service offering for business clients. This includes conducting primary/secondary market research to determine needs of businesses, implementing new service programs, packaging services, developing collateral materials, and meeting annual budget goals.
Lead external partnerships and business development activities. Set the direction, strategy and priorities for partner opportunities that will help shape the future of Wespay. Coordinate with other department heads to grow event sponsorships, consulting services, and self-assessment services. Serve as Wespay’s primary contact with banking associations, credit union leagues, and AFP chapters.
Skills and Qualifications
Requires 15+ years of experience, or additional education with less experience.
Relevant experience includes financial institution sales or product management, corporate treasury, payments service provider, or a similar trade association.
Experience working with C-Level executives and a Board of Directors delivering executive communications.
Strong leadership capabilities, problem solving skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Demonstrated business development capability and a track record of client satisfaction.
Demonstrated project delivery capability in a self-directed environment.
Polished oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint or other presentation software.
Track record of public speaking at financial services industry events.
Demonstrates honesty, respect, and a high level of professional integrity.
Payments related certification (e.g., AAP, NCP, APRP or AFP) is a plus.
