The Office of the Comptroller General (OCG), Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS), provides value to Ministries across the Ontario Public Sector (OPS) through the delivery of service excellence in the areas of risk management, controllership and internal auditing. OCG acts as a centre for excellence in these areas, providing leadership on policy and direction, as well as on building capacity, capability and community.
TBS, OCG seeks a seasoned executive for the position of Chief Risk Officer/Assistant Deputy Minister (CRO/ADM) within the Office of the Chief Risk Officer (OCRO) Division. The CRO/ADM provides executive leadership to enable a smart risk culture that builds capacity and enables sound decision-making for all the OPS.

Reporting to the Comptroller General, Associate Deputy Minister, the CRO/ADM:
Builds a strong enterprise risk management foundation in the OPS through strategic risk advisory service and guidance to ministries and provincial agencies;
Promotes a culture where the capacity, capability and confidence to support smart risk management is embedded in OPS processes and day-to-day activities, to enhance government's decision-making, public policy capacity, and service delivery to Ontarians;
Coordinates, integrates and communicates risk functions and information across the OPS; and
Leads and motivates a high-performing team of results-oriented internal audit professionals, fostering a diverse, inclusive, accessible and engaged workplace.
HOW DO I QUALIFY:
Executive Leadership, Political Acuity and Relationship Management
You are a seasoned executive who is an effective communicator, negotiator and consensus builder who can work collaboratively horizontally and vertically across the OPS;
You are experienced in leading the development of communications strategies, frameworks, and strong consultation networks both horizontally and vertically across a complex organization;
You can work collaboratively with the Comptroller General/Associate Deputy Minister, the Chief Internal Auditor/Assistant Deputy Minister and the Provincial Controller/Assistant Deputy Minister to support the delivery of OCG’s strategic mandate and business plan.
Finance and Risk Controllership
Excellent knowledge and demonstrated effectiveness will be required in the areas of:
Enterprise risk management practices, principles, methodology, best practices and trends;
Policy and program development, financial management and business modernization;
Large complex organizational structures, governance and risk structures and process, concepts, and principles;
Government decision-making processes within the public sector, private sector or combined; and
Central agency decision-making processes, including Treasury/Management Board, Cabinet Committees and corporate functions to support risk models and reporting integration objectives.
