Advancement Services manages all campuswide and UCDH philanthropic technology and support as well as centralized private philanthropic support acceptance, processing, and administration. Services provided include data visualization, programming support, data/information management, data analysis, system auditing, and compliance, formulation, and implementation of gift policies, acceptance and processing of gifts, and user documentation and training. The organization consists of a customer services team, a help desk and training tea, a business intelligence team, a data services team, and a gift services team.
The Advancement Services teams are critical to the strategic initiatives of the campus and the UC System as its services and systems are utilized by all campus departments and by UCOP in performing complex financial analyses and predictive modeling. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Customer Services Manager, this position serves as a business systems analyst responsible for business and systems analysis, testing, and ongoing maintenance of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DEVAR) database of record and associated reporting tools and projects. Work closely with business relationship managers (product owners), development staff, operations staff, business units, and management in the support of existing and new products. Provide support to customers and team members to maintain project timelines, address complex reporting, and ensure outstanding service to customers.
Lead requirement analysis and produce business/functional requirements for enhancements, application upgrades, and contributions to DEVAR systems and tools. Elicit, translate and document client needs into project requirements. Develop acceptance criteria, process flow diagrams, and other necessary project documentation. Design, develop, and implement road maps, plans, and proposals that address the functional needs of users as it relates to projects and reporting requests. Identify associated priorities, opportunities, and risks.
Work closely with functional, technical, and training divisions to ensure functional needs of users are addressed. Review and suggest potential design solutions that satisfy user needs and improve business efficiency. Troubleshoot end-user reports and system issues to resolution as Tier 2 support by identifying and isolating technical or training deficiencies.
Maintain knowledge of the intricacies, dependencies & complexities of all Advancement Services analysis tools, including but not limited to Advance Web, Michelangelo, Crystal Reports, PL/SQL, Excel, Access, Anthology Encompass, and Microsoft PowerBI. Apply industry standard best practices to determine which tool is most appropriate to resolve a specific issue with a sense of urgency.
A significant degree of independence and decision-making is expected as the position will own implementation of enhancements during project implementations.

Minimum Education/Experience:
