The mission of Stanford Financial Management Services (FMS) is "to provide a business ecosystem that cultivates a simplified financial landscape to address the evolving needs of the community while safeguarding the university." In support of this mission, FMS provides a wide array of services to support and enable effective financial management activities performed by university clients and business partners, including campus departments and central business units. The Business Relationship and Strategic Partnership team is a key part of a larger Business Strategy and Relationship (BSR) team within Financial Management Services (FMS). Our mission is to provide exemplary services and strategic solutions through business relationships and collaboration.
Job Overview:
Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) establish and nurture productive working relationships at all levels with Stanford's schools and administrative units. As strategic partners, BRMs connect client feedback and business needs back to central FMS. Additionally, BRMs collaborate with the various FMS departments in order to understand their goals and projects impacting campus.

Core Duties:
Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including organizational and financial leaders
Conduct outreach meetings with University business partners to understand financial needs, provide business process analysis, and share best practices
Provide additional communication with the progress of initiatives to internal and external stakeholders and provide a dedicated space to discuss stakeholder impact.
Document outreach interactions in Salesforce to enable reporting and overall campus feedback analysis.
Collaborate with FMS colleagues to review upcoming FMS process, policy, and system changes to discuss overall campus impact and provide input with overall solutions and change management activities
Liaise between the client and internal FMS teams and be a key point of contact for our campus partners when they need additional assistance/guidance from FMS.
Provide detailed reports and analysis of campus outreach data with the BSR team, FMS leadership and the Business Alignment Team (BAT) as a result of outreach.
Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams and end users to help understand campus impacts, build awareness, provide reporting, support communication, training and support for change across the institution.
Ensure the proper scoping and successful delivery of FMS solutions according to client needs, objectives and operational capabilities
Drive strategic alignment and analyze stakeholder feedback to determine trends to help internal stakeholders connect the dots and support enhancements, operational changes, and future initiatives
Lead or support ad hoc projects as needed
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 5 -10 years of relevant experience in finance/administration and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience. Higher Education and Business Relationship Management (BRM) Institute certification is a plus.

Proficient oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver effective presentations to different audiences
Ability to work effectively with a diverse set of organizational stakeholders including executive leadership, administration, Stanford's finance community and cross functional teams.
Marketing and communication knowledge is a plus
Analytical Skills
Ability to analyze and share data impacts with key stakeholders
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Business Acumen
Expertise in business/finance and/or financial systems/applications and databases
An understanding of Stanford's business processes and systems
Demonstrated financial management knowledge
Ability to work in a decentralized environment to effectively manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
Solid understanding of the project management body of knowledge discipline
Ability to use and learn how to use collaboration tools including Zoom, G-Suite, Slack and Smartsheet, Salesforce, and any other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs.
Business Relationship Management (BRM) Institute certification and/or Salesforce expertise are a plus
